荟同四大学院学院队长宣布

Huitong House Captains Announced

建校以来，荟同就把学院制作为学校特色之一。学生们跨越年级的界限，在各自的学院里开展合作，并与其他学院进行友好竞争。其中，学院队长就是一项荟同独特的学生领袖培养机制。从参与竞选、正式履职到投入行动，学生们将获得一系列展示自我、促进协作和锻炼领导力的机会。日前，本学年的荟同学院队长选举落下帷幕。10月26日，我校在B120表演大厅举行了学院队长受聘仪式，为四大学院学院队长授牌。

Since the school's founding, Huitong has made the academy one of its hallmarks. Students work together across grade boundaries in their respective academies and compete with other academies in a friendly manner. One unique student leadership development mechanism at Huitong is the House Captain. From running for office to taking up the position, students are given a series of opportunities to showcase themselves, promote collaboration, and exercise leadership. On October 26th, the school held the Appointment Ceremony for House Captains in the B120 Performance Hall to honor the House Captains of the four Houses.

本学年学院队长申请面向六年级学生开放。荟同四大学院——泰山、珠江、银杏和熊猫的四位学院长老师，在本月中旬的学院队长招募集会上与六年级全体学生见面，向大家宣讲了学院制与学院精神，并鼓励学生们积极报名参选。

The House Captain applications are open to G6 students this school year. Our four Heads of House from Tai Shan, Pearl, Ginkgo, and Panda - met with all G6 students at the House Captain Recruitment Assembly in the middle of this month to explain the house system and house spirit, and to encourage students to apply for the interview as well.

相较往年，今年申请竞选的学生数量更多，也意味着竞争更加激烈。学生们需要提交书面申请并进行面试。对于一些学生来说，这是他们人生中第一次正式的面试，有着特别的意义。在宣布竞选结果前，荟同代理学院制协调员、同时也是泰山学院院长的吕晟元老师，鼓励了岗位候选人们的良好面试表现，并特别总结分享了一些从面试环节得到的反馈，希望大家从经历中获得更多面试经验。在他看来，担任学院队长不仅是对于个人能力的证明，更重要的是这个角色是为了整个荟同社区在服务。

Compared to previous years, a larger number of students applied to run for the interview this year, which also meant more competition. Students were required to submit their applications and take an interview with the teachers. For some students, this was the first formal interview in their lives and had special significance. Before announcing the result, Mr. Lu Shengyuan, Huitong Acting House System Coordinator and the Head of Taishan House encouraged the good performance of the candidates and shared some summary of the feedback from the interview session, hoping that everyone would gain more interview experience from the experience. In his opinion, being a house captain is not only proof of one's ability, but more importantly, this is a key role in serving the whole Huitong community.

随后，吕老师隆重公布了四大学院的学院队长竞选结果，霍近思校长、邹炎汉校长、副校长郭歆以及四大学院院长应邀，分别为本学年所有竞聘成功的学院队长授牌，并为所有参与面试的学生们颁发证书。我们看到，在每个学院结果竞选公布的那一刻，现场同学们都表现得非常雀跃，欢呼和掌声回荡在表演大厅。有的同学在得知当选结果后兴奋到从座位上跳了起来，还有的同学看到朋友当选后表现得比好友还更加兴奋，第一时间送上自己的拥抱。大家毫不吝啬自己的赞美，发自内心地祝福彼此，让我们再一次见证着团结友爱的荟同大家庭里极其温暖动人的一面。

After that, Mr. Lu grandly announced the results of the house captains. Our Chancellor Mr. Jim Hawkins, Chinese Principal Mr. Zou Yanhan, Deputy Principle Ms. Guo Xin, and Heads of House were invited to award all the house captains of this year and to present certificates to all the students who participated in the interview. We saw that when the result of each college campaign was announced, the students showed great excitement. Their cheers and applause echoed in the performance hall. Some students were so excited that they jumped up from their seats, while others acted more excited than their friends after seeing their friends elected. All of them did not spare their praise and wished each other from the bottom of their hearts. This is the moment we could once again witness the extremely warm and touching side of the Huitong family again.

受聘仪式最后，霍近思校长向全体学生致辞。他再次祝贺了所有当选学院队长以及参与竞选的成员，表示期待见证所有学院队长能够在任职期间充分锻炼领导才能。随后，他与所有人分享了建立连结和保持勇气的重要性——了解学院里的成员，与不同年级的学生们多交流，在有困难的时候伸出援手，让学院成为一个沟通密切的整体；与此同时，要保有内心的勇气，去决定什么是需要做的事情。

At the end of the appointment ceremony, Mr. Jim Hawkins delivered a short speech to all the students. He again congratulated all the elected House Captains and those who ran for the interview and said he looked forward to seeing all the House Captains develop their leadership qualities during their term. He then shared the importance of building great relationships and being courageous - getting to know the members of the House, interacting with students from different grades, reaching out in times of trouble, and making the House communicative whole; and at the same time, maintaining the courage within to decide what needs to be done.

未来，学院队长将积极把他们的力量、思想和才华辐射到全校性的活动中，在带领中学习。期待学院队长们能够通过这些经历，培育更强烈的责任心，体验付出带来的成就感，并激励更多荟同学子投入到为荟同社区服务的行列当中。

In the future, the House Captains will actively radiate their strength, ideas, and talents into school-wide activities, learning through leading. It is expected that through these experiences, the House Captains will cultivate a stronger sense of responsibility, experience the sense of accomplishment that comes from giving, and inspire more students to devote themselves to serving the Huitong community.
