Dear Huitong Students and Parents,
十一月快乐！我们有一些让人兴奋的进展与大家分享。
Happy November! We have several exciting updates to share with everyone!
首先，G12的几位音乐学生已经收到了英国顶级音乐学院的面试邀请，包括伦敦皇家音乐学院--在QS世界大学调查中，该学院的表演艺术排名全球第一。G12学生Vicky Zhu也入围了剑桥大学圣约翰学院的名单。Vicky现在是我们三年来第二个取得这一重要里程碑的音乐学生。这意味着我们的学生已经进入了他们所选领域的前20%。我们希望他们能在2022年底前收到录取通知书。
Firstly, several G12 music students have already received interview invitations from the top UK conservatories, including the Royal College of Music in London – ranked Global No.1 for Performing Arts by the QS World University survey. G12 student Vicky Zhu also has been shortlisted by St John’s College, University of Cambridge. Vicky is now our second music student in three years to have achieved this significant milestone. All these results indicate our students are already in the top 20% of their chosen fields. We hope they will receive offers soon! Secondly, many congratulations to our voice teacher, Ms Lauren Luo! Ms Lauren has been awarded her MA Music Education with distinction by the University College of London. As a team, we have teachers who graduated from prestigious tertiary institutions such as Harvard, Columbia, King’s College London, University of Hong Kong, Royal Academy of Music and Mannes School of Music. (Please refer to our team profile QR code for more information.) However, as I emphasised to my team and parents time and time again, we are most proud of the work we have done with our students. In English language, people say do not judge the book by its covers. Similarly, we hope our school community can see how much our students have excelled each year.

Thirdly, our Barista series has been going from strength to strength. We had over 700 views on our live stream last Friday. We averaged over 500 views last week. Thank you all for your support – please continue to promote this unique feature of our school to your friends and families by sharing the Video Channel QR code.
